The Metropolitan Council is updating the Twin Cities' long-range Transportation Policy Plan to accommodate an expected population increase and it's asking for residents to give their input.

Level III Predatory Offender Arrested in Clearwater

St. Cloud Police say a Level III Predatory Offender who was not in compliance with the registration of his whereabouts was arrested in Clearwater, Minn., on Thursday.

According to police, 32-year-old Dagan Lasart recently left the St. Cloud area and failed to give his current information to police, which is a requirement of the Predatory Offender Registry.

2 Acres Burn in Elk River Grass Fire, Officials Investigate Cause

Elk River fire officials are investigating a large grass fire that happened Tuesday night in the Woodland Trails Park.

The fire department was dispatched to the fire, which burned about three acres, around 5:33 p.m.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.

At this point, additional details have not been released.

Burning Restrictions Begin Monday Across the State

As all of the snow and ice begins to melt, the fire danger is expected to increase. Because of this, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is putting burning restrictions in place beginning Monday.
