Authorities: Man Shoots, Injures Wife During Car Chase to St. Cloud

A 63-year-old woman was hospitalized in St. Cloud after authorities say her estranged husband chased her in his car and shot at her Saturday morning.

The incident started in Wendel Township and ended in St. Cloud. Deputies received several 911 calls about two vehicles traveling southeast on County Road 4 near County Road 2 just before 10 a.m.

Northstar Train Vandalized in Big Lake

Big Lake police are investigating after a Metro Transit Northstar train was vandalized last week.

Police say the vandalism happened around 2 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20, when the train was parked at a service facility near Highway 10 and County Road 43 in Big Lake.

A witness reportedly saw a suspicious pickup with Texas registration. 

Man Hit, Killed by Northstar Train in Elk River

A man was pronounced dead after he was hit by a Northstar train in Elk River on Wednesday night, according to Metro Transit officials.

The incident happened in the southbound tracks around 6:30 p.m. Metro Transit officials say the man was in a non-designated crossing area.

St. Cloud Man Dies after Dune Buggy Rolls Over in Field

A 27-year-old St. Cloud man died after a dune buggy-style vehicle rolled over in Sherburne County early Tuesday morning.

The incident happened around 1:15 a.m. in a farm field in Haven Township.

Sherburne County authorities say Luke Lietha Brott died at the scene despite CPR attempts by emergency personnel.

DNR: Conservative Deer Season will Lower Harvest

The deer hunting season is coming up quickly, and this year the harvest limit may be the lowest it’s been since the early 1980s.

Minnesota Department of Natural Resources big game program leader Leslie McInenly says the harvest could come in around 120,000; last year, 170,000 deer were harvested.
